Installation Guide: NexBot Vision Training Course 913-003 - Level I

DANGER: Disconnect all power sources before beginning installation. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures per OSHA 1910.147.

1. Required Tools & Materials

A modern computer with Windows 10 or higher, or macOS 11 or higher
A stable broadband internet connection (5 Mbps download minimum)
The latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge web browser
NexBot SimSuite software (download link provided upon enrollment)
A webcam and microphone for participation in live instructor-led sessions
PDF reader software for viewing course workbooks and manuals
Administrator privileges on your computer for software installation

2. Pre-Installation Checks

Verify completion of the prerequisite course: 'NXB-TRN-101-001 - Introduction to NexBot Robot Programming'.
Confirm the trainee has a basic understanding of programming logic and robotic coordinate systems.
Ensure the computer meets the minimum system requirements for NexBot SimSuite software.
Check that your network firewall allows access to the NexBot training portal and its subdomains.
Have a valid NexBot customer account for portal registration.
Allocate approximately 8-12 hours of study time per week to complete course modules and labs.

3. Installation Procedure

Step 1: Purchase and Enroll

Purchase the NexBot Vision Training Course 913-003 via the official NexBot web store. After purchase, you will receive an email with a unique enrollment key and a link to the training portal.

Step 2: Register on the Training Portal

Navigate to the NexBot training portal using the link provided. Create a new user account or log in to an existing one, and use the enrollment key to add the course to your dashboard.

Warning: The enrollment key is for single-use only and is assigned to your account permanently.

Step 3: Perform System Compatibility Check

From the course dashboard, run the automated system checker. This tool will verify your browser version, internet speed, and connectivity to the virtual lab servers.

Step 4: Download Course Materials

Navigate to the 'Course Resources' section. Download the main course workbook (PDF), all lab exercise files (.zip), and any supplemental datasheets.

Step 5: Install and License NexBot SimSuite

Download and install the specific version of NexBot SimSuite required for the course. Upon first launch, use the temporary training license key found in the 'License Information' section of the portal to activate the software.

Warning: Using a different version of SimSuite than specified may cause incompatibility with lab files.

Step 6: Review Course Syllabus and Schedule

Open the course syllabus to understand the learning objectives, module breakdown, and grading criteria. Add the dates and times for any live instructor sessions to your personal calendar.

Step 7: Connect to the Virtual Lab Environment

Follow the instructions in Module 0 to test your connection to the remote virtual lab. Ensure you can load a sample project, view the simulated robot cell, and execute basic commands.

Warning: Virtual lab access is metered and sessions will time out after a period of inactivity.

4. Post-Installation Verification

Confirm that all course modules are visible and accessible on your dashboard.
Verify that you can successfully download and unzip the lab exercise files without errors.
Launch NexBot SimSuite and ensure the training license is shown as active.
Successfully load the 'Lab 1-1 Introduction' file into the SimSuite environment.
Post a brief introductory message in the 'Student Introductions' course forum to verify access.
Check that you have received the welcome email and calendar invitations for live sessions.
