1. Required Tools & Materials
2. Pre-Installation Checks
- Verify the product is NexBot Robotics 733-010 Cleaning Solvent (SKU: NXB-GEN-733-010) and the container seal is intact.
- Read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for NXB-GEN-733-010 before opening the container.
- Ensure the work area is well-ventilated and free from ignition sources such as sparks or open flames.
- Confirm all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and in good condition.
- Check the material compatibility of the component to be cleaned with the solvent. If unsure, test on a small, non-critical area first.
- Power down and de-energize any electrical or robotic equipment to be cleaned, following proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
3. Installation Procedure
Step 1: Step 1: Prepare the Work Area
Establish a designated cleaning zone. Ensure proper ventilation is active and a fire extinguisher is accessible. Lay down chemical-resistant matting if working on sensitive surfaces.
Warning: Vapors may be flammable. Prohibit smoking, welding, or any spark-generating activities in the vicinity.
Step 2: Step 2: Don Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Put on chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles. If ventilation is inadequate, a respirator approved for organic vapors is required.
Step 3: Step 3: Open and Dispense Solvent
Carefully break the seal and open the 1.1 kg container. Pour a small, required amount of the 733-010 Cleaning Solvent into a designated application container to avoid contaminating the main supply.
Warning: Avoid splashing. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush with water for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Step 4: Pre-Clean the Component
Remove loose dirt, debris, and heavy grease from the component surface using a dry cloth or brush. This improves the effectiveness of the solvent and prolongs its useful life.
Step 5: Step 5: Apply the Solvent
Using a lint-free wipe or nylon brush dipped in the solvent, apply a thin, even layer to the surface requiring cleaning. For stubborn contaminants, allow the solvent to sit for a short period as recommended in the equipment service manual, but do not let it dry completely on the surface.
Warning: Do not apply directly to powered electronics, unsealed bearings, or sensitive optical sensors.
Step 6: Step 6: Agitate the Surface
Gently agitate the surface with the brush or wipe to dislodge contaminants. Work systematically from the top of the component downwards.
Step 7: Step 7: Wipe Clean and Dry
Before the solvent evaporates, wipe the surface clean with a fresh, dry, lint-free cloth to remove the dissolved contaminants and excess solvent. For critical applications, a second wipe with a clean cloth may be necessary.
Warning: Ensure component is completely dry before re-energizing equipment to prevent electrical shorts or fire.
Step 8: Step 8: Dispose of Waste
Place all used wipes, brushes, and contaminated materials into a designated, sealed waste container. Dispose of the waste in accordance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Warning: Solvent-soaked rags can be a fire hazard. Do not dispose of them in standard trash receptacles.
4. Post-Installation Verification
- Visually inspect the cleaned component for any remaining residue or contaminants.
- Confirm that the component surface is completely dry.
- Verify that no solvent has dripped onto incompatible materials or sensitive equipment areas.
- Check that the cap on the main 733-010 Cleaning Solvent container is tightly sealed to prevent evaporation.
- Store the remaining solvent in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and ignition sources.
- Ensure all tools and PPE are cleaned and stored correctly.
