Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures per OSHA 1910.147.
1. Required Tools & Materials
2. Pre-Installation Checks
- Verify the product is NexBot Robotics 733-005 Cleaning Solvent (SKU: NXB-GEN-733-005).
- Inspect the 220 x 75 x 180 mm anodized aluminum container for any signs of leaks, dents, or damage.
- Confirm the expiration date on the container label has not passed.
- Ensure the target robotic system's cleaning reservoir or dispensing unit is powered down and depressurized.
- Read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) thoroughly before handling the solvent.
- Prepare the work area by removing all potential ignition sources.
3. Installation Procedure
Step 1: Don Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Before handling the solvent container, put on appropriate chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles. Ensure the work area is well-ventilated to prevent inhalation of fumes.
Warning: Failure to use proper PPE can result in skin irritation, eye damage, or respiratory issues. Refer to the SDS for detailed PPE requirements.
Step 2: Prepare the Dispensing System
Ensure the robotic cell's solvent dispensing unit or cleaning reservoir is clean, dry, and free of any residual fluid from previous products. Using an incompatible solvent can lead to equipment malfunction or damage.
Step 3: Unseal the Solvent Container
Place the container on a stable, level surface. Carefully remove the shipping seal and unscrew the cap. Avoid splashing or creating aerosols.
Warning: Open container slowly to release any potential pressure buildup.
Step 4: Transfer Solvent to Reservoir
Using a designated, clean funnel, carefully pour the NexBot Robotics 733-005 Cleaning Solvent into the equipment's reservoir. Avoid overfilling; observe the reservoir's maximum fill line.
Step 5: Seal Reservoir and Container
Securely fasten the cap on the equipment's reservoir. Tightly reseal the original solvent container to prevent contamination and evaporation. The anodized aluminum container is designed for secure storage of remaining fluid.
Step 6: Clean Up and Document
Wipe up any minor spills immediately using absorbent material from the spill kit. Dispose of used wipes and materials according to local regulations and SDS guidelines. Record the date and amount of solvent added in the equipment's maintenance log.
Warning: Improper disposal of solvent or solvent-soaked materials can pose an environmental hazard.
4. Post-Installation Verification
- Visually inspect the reservoir and connecting lines for any signs of leaks.
- Verify the fluid level indicator on the equipment shows a correct reading.
- Power on the equipment and run a test or prime cycle to ensure the solvent is flowing correctly through the system.
- Check that all safety interlocks related to the fluid dispensing system are active.
- Store the remaining solvent in its original container in a designated, compliant chemical storage cabinet.
- Ensure the work area is clean and all tools have been properly stored.
